Last night we attended the Surprise Christmas Party at the Surprise Sports Complex. My only expectation was that it would be crowded and Sunny would see Santa. Other than that I was willing to be, well, surprised! And there were several surprises. Sunny did great with Santa, but she hated the hot air balloons, hated looking at the rides, hated looking at the games, loved running in the grassy field with Gramps.
This is a great event; I’ve been looking forward to it since we attended last year. It truly has a small-town feel (at least to my big city view), it’s free, and it includes the tree lighting, parachute jumpers, fireworks, carnival rides and games, two stages of local entertainment, free pictures with Santa, and a balloon glow. What’s not to enjoy?
