Official Five Month Photo
This month we're back to the screenshot photo. I believe (and no one can convince me I'm wrong) that when we Skype with Blizzard he can see us in the screen. He most definitely hears us and responds to our voices. When we skyped this past weekend, he moved toward the screen as if he wanted to come right through it into my arms. Oh, if only it could be!
I just know he thinks I live in a box! If any of you know how to make the Skype session a split screen please let me know... I'm sure there must be a better way to get a good screenshot. Thanks!

A Stitching Post
Well, I finally finished one of the six stockings I need to stitch before Christmas. I should be excited, but all I really feel is anxiety about how am I possibly going to finish the rest of them in time! As you can see the name is not stitched yet and I need to assemble it, but the hard part is done. I'm hoping that this stocking was the most detailed... we'll see. I started this stocking on March 3 and completed it on June 11. Now it's on to the next one!

Grammy Summer Camp Week One
We successfully completed our first week of Grammy Summer Camp.
Whew... only seven weeks to go.
The first week was filled with swimming, reading, movies, swimming, cooking, Legos, swimming, Flash Cards, Color pages, swimming. You get the idea.
Here are a few photos to show you our fun. Now we're on to Week Two!

For our first cooking project we made Reindeer Cookies.
Not because we were celebrating Christmas in July, but
because it was an easy recipe I thought we could handle!
I handled the delicate job of dipping the Nutter Butters
into melted chocolate, but they added the legs, antlers,
red nose and eyes by themselves.
Now I have photographic proof that they are capable of
working together and sharing... sometimes!
Ta-da! I didn't taste them, but the kids did and
pronounced them "delicious"
Tuesday mornings we're going to the movies
As you can see these are true Arizona kids.
The theater is freezing and we took extra
jackets and sweaters to bundle up in
before stepping out into 105 degree temps
when the movie ended.

Cousins
A few weeks ago Jessica, Adam, Storm, Snow passed through Kansas City on their way to Branson, MO for a family vacation with Adam's family. They coordinated with JD and Janel to join up together in Kansas City for a visit.
This was the first time Blizzard got to meet relatives from JD's family (except for me and Dan). They provided me with cute photos of the cousins all together for the first time.
I would have been envious, but since I knew I was traveling to Kansas a week later I managed to restrain myselfπ
Seriously, I can't wait until Thanksgiving when JD, Janel and Blizzard plan to travel here. I'm eager to have ALL of my grandkids together!

ππππEight!ππππ
Sunny, our oldest grandchild is celebrating her Eighth birthday this week. Being the first she's the one who determined who we are as Gramps and Grammy. She is as comfortable at our home as she is at her own home. She always greets us with unbridled enthusiasm even if she just saw us hours before. She is loving, compassionate, and kind. We love you, Sunny! Happy Birthday!

Threeπππ
Turning three years old is exciting. It can also be overwhelming. But eventually, acceptance of being a year older sets in. This year's official photo with Grammy shows the resigned side of accepting that a birthday is occurring and a kiss from Grammy is to be tolerated... barely.
Storm had a great birthday party last week. It was the first party attended by friends as well as family. It was fun to see him and the other little guys down on the floor playing with the train set, running outside to play on the swing set, back inside to play with the train again.
Storm is into trains, Disney Cars characters, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, and Hot Wheels. The theme for his party was trains and he received many trains as gifts. He did not want to blow out the candles this year, as opposed to his first birthday when he wanted to stick his finger in the flame. With age comes wisdom.
Happy Birthday Storm! Gramps and I love you more than you can know.
Gramps enjoyed the train theme!

Official Four Month Photo!
Yippee! I got to take the official four month photo with Blizzard in person.
We visited JD, Janel and Blizzard in Manhattan KS over Memorial Day weekend. I haven't been with him since he was a newborn. He has the sunniest disposition and "talks" all the time. He is very active and already tries to put his knees under himself when he's doing tummy time. He is such a sweetie pie!
I'll post photos from our trip over the next few days, but I wanted to get our official photo up first. I love you, Blizzard!!
