I am completely frustrating with blogging right now. I'm feeling as if I'm not technically savvy enough to be doing this. Evidently when you use Blogger, every time you upload a photo into your blog it goes into a Picasa Web Album. Once your web album reaches a certain capacity, you have to pay to have more storage space. If you delete photos from the web album, they are also deleted from your blog. At least this is what I understand from reading the warning on Picasa.
Seriously?! I just want to upload photos from my computer into my blog without them going somewhere else. Since I'm currently also posting to a 365 photo blog, as you can imagine, I've reached my capacity pretty darn quick.
I tried going on to Picasa to try to understand what the albums are, how to condense them, label them, organize them. But I can't find anything that helps me to do that. My 365 blog will be complete in about two months. When it's complete, I'm going to print it out and then I can delete all of those photos off of my Picasa Web Album. That should open up some space. I also terminated my recipe blog and deleted all of those photos from the web album. I hadn't posted to it in months, so no big deal.
I just don't understand how Google can usurp my photos. They are my composition, my creation, my personal property. How can they stick them on a site without my permission?
If I'm ranting about nothing, please let me know. As I said, it may just be that I'm too limited to know what I'm doing. If you know a way around Picasa, please let me know... but use language that a child could understand. Actually, most kids are probably way more tech skilled than I am! haha

Warm... Hot... Unbearable!
This post is a whine. I'm not even apologizing for it. So if you don't want to read whine, come back another day. Our A/C went out yesterday! We live in the Phoenix area... it is still mighty warm here. 100 degrees yesterday. We live in a rental so I called the management company to tell her the news. The A/C guy came out yesterday afternoon. It was already 87 degrees in the house. When he came back in to the house I could tell it was a major problem.
It won't be fixed until today. Last night wasunbearable uncomfortable. I kept telling myself it could be worse, the temps could be 110+. But it didn't really help. It was 89 degrees when we went to bed. It's 82 degrees this morning. I sure hope the guy gets here early today. But I'm not betting on it.
Jess and Adam came for dinner last night and to watch Monday Night Football. They brought a fan. We had it blasting on us as we watched the game.
I was supposed to have the grandkids today. Katie decided she didn't want them sitting around in a 90 degree house. I don't blame her. I'm pretty sure I might be grumpy today.
The good news is that a cold front is coming through and the high today is only supposed to be 92 degrees.
Thank goodness!

Down
I can already tell that this could be a "down" day for me. I say could because ultimately the choice is mine. I can either accept the state of being down or I can pull myself into up. Don't worry, I'm going to pull myself into up, but I'm also going to consider why I got out of bed down and try to make changes (at least to the extent of my control) so that I don't get out of bed down tomorrow.
I know that I'm feeling overwhelmed. Not necessarily in a bad way. Sometimes good things can be overwhelming too. I feel overwhelmed by the amount of projects I want to do. Need to do. Would like to do.
I know it sounds ungrateful, but I'm overwhelmed by the smallness of our home. You would think that after living in this house for over two years I would be used to the fact that there are no closets. I don't think that's something you can ever get used to! I'm tired of shuffling items from one flat space to the next because I don't have a closet to put them in. That's also part of my project frustration. I have no space to lay out a project to work on it.
I'm overwhelmed with the pick up in appraisals. That's a good thing. It's trying to schedule the appraisals around a full-time job at Sam's Club that puts me over the edge. I'm grateful for the Sam's Club job too. I'll be glad when Dan works at it part time instead of full time. That day may be coming soon.
You know, just writing this out and seeing it in print helps to take the weight of it off my shoulders. I think it's time to start this post over.

Thursday Thoughts
It is very cold here. As I write this it’s in the low 40s and the high today is only going to be 51. Then tonight, it’s going to drop to freezing (32) or below for several hours. I have lived here too long and can’t handle these cold temps!
We will be renewing our lease on this house in February. I’ve decided to be proactive instead of living another year in reactive mode. As I’ve stated before, this house has no closets other than the ones in the bedrooms. Both bathrooms have single vanities, so there’s very little storage under the sink. The hall bath has no drawers and our bath has two drawers. The kitchen has two double-door cabinets, three single-door cabinets, and five drawers. I have no storage space! I’ve been frustrated by this for two years and my solution has been to (literally) move stuff from one space to another as the situation warrants. When I have no guests, the guest bed serves as storage space, when I do have guests I set up tables in the garage to move that stuff to. It’s been overwhelming for someone like me who is normally highly organized. For our third year in this house, I’m resorting to packing up some items that we can live without for a year. Just think, when we finally buy a house and unpack them, they’ll seem brand new to us!
Dan is counting down the hours until his six day vacation from Sam’s Club begins. This morning he announced “36 hours to go!”. I’m praying that he will be able to go from full time to part time at the end of January.
Sunny was over yesterday. She is just the smartest little girl! (Yes, I’m biased) She is attempting to sing. She brought me the three wise men yesterday, and was “singing” before she even got them to me. When I started singing “We Three Kings”, she nodded and “sang” along. I have a little cardboard book version of “Go, Dog, Go”. She loves that book and we read it several times each day. Yesterday after I read it to her, she took it over to Rascal, opened it so he could see it, and she turned each page saying, “go, doggie, go” until she got to the “Stop, Dogs. Stop” page, then she held out her hand in a stop motion (like I do) and said “stop doggie”, before continuing with “go, doggie, go” for the rest of the book. I wish I had the camera and had filmed it!
The wind is howling. I think I’ll make a cup of hot tea and read…

Thursday Thoughts
Still praying - for Teresa over at Grammy Girlfriend. Her husband Jack is still in Baylor Medical Center, although they're hoping to transfer him to a rehab center in Shreveport, LA soon. It is so encouraging to me to read the comments on her blog of all the people praying for them. Especially the ones that begin "I only know you through your blog...". I think it's so cool that ministry takes place on the Internet through blogs and other social media. Kind of makes up for all the really scary stuff you hear about.
Weather - Today the high for the Phoenix area is only going to be in the upper 80s. Yippee! We have our doors and windows open and our A/C is off. I love the fresh air! We'll probably have to turn it back on for the weekend when the temps head back up into the 90s, but last night was great sleeping weather with the windows open.
Daisy - This item is probably more for my kids than anyone else. We took Daisy (our little chihuahua) to the vet today. She has a cataract in her eye (her other eye was removed before we rescued her), her hearing is definitely almost gone, and she may have diabetes. We did some limited lab work on her and are waiting for the results. Then we will decide how to proceed. The vet talked to us about what kind of issues to look for in an aging pet. We don't want to selfishly keep her alive once she becomes miserable. Right now, she still plays occasionally (especially with Sunny!) and has really good days. Don't worry, we will not spend a ton of money on her. Although I love her to pieces, I know she's a pet, not a child. We told the vet that she seems to hear Sunny's voice the best and he said she's probably lost her lower register of hearing. Guess I'll have to teach Sunny to say more real words so we can use her as an interpreter for Daisy!
Whining - You may not want to read this part, I'm going to whine. I've had a sore throat since Saturday. It is driving me nuts. It burns and scratches and nothing I do helps. I've drunk so much cold water and hot tea that I spend half my time in the bathroom. I wish someone would invent a cure for the sore throat. Soon.
Vacation - Dan is on vacation from Sam's Club through 10/18. We scheduled the vacation because we planned a trip to SC to visit JD & Janel, but Dan's appraisal work has increased so much that we didn't want to miss the opportunity for income. We're hoping that he'll get tons of work this next several days, but I also hope he'll be able to sleep in a couple of days and that we'll have time for some fun stuff.
Enjoy the day!
