Sunny and Snow
The three older grands are thrilled with their newest cousin. They interact with her so sweetly and always want a chance to hold her.
Snow takes it in stride and grins at them and babbles some form of conversation with them. As with every other new baby to enter our family, the oldest kids can "interpret" her babbles. They will come to me and say, "Grammy, Snow is hungry", "Grammy, Snow just said hi to me!", "Grammy, Snow wants to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse".
Thank goodness for my little helpers!
As you can see from the photo, Snow is wearing a harness. She was a breech baby and has bilateral hip dysplasia because of it. She will wear the harness for the next six weeks. She has an ultrasound every two weeks to see if the hip joint is fitting into the socket properly. Once the joints/sockets are normal, she will be out of the harness and shouldn't have any developmental issues because of this condition. I guess it's quite common in girls who are breech. So much so, that the ultrasound is now a typical part of their well visits at six weeks of age. Fortunately, Snow has a very mild condition of hip dysplasia.
Prayers for a complete recovery are appreciated!
I am praying for your precious granddaughter.
