Official Six Month Photo

Snow is six months old... and still smiling! She is just the happiest baby. Very easy to care for. She has two teeth now and is eating baby food. So far she likes everything she's tried, except peas. She had no problem transitioning to using a spoon and acts like she's always eaten this way. She scootches (yes I see that's not a real word) around the floor and really wants to crawl. We keep telling her she can't crawl until she can sit on her own!

She loves her cousins, the dogs, her toys, everything! She babbles constantly and I can't wait until she talks because it's obvious she has a lot to say!

Don't you think she has a lot of reddish highlights in her hair?

She's a sweetie pie, love you Snow!

Verse For the Week: Psalm 23

Oh how many times I read this passage in my darkest hour, even now eight years later I have no idea how I made it through. It had to have been God's grace. Believe in the power of the Lord, for he is with us always.:

Impromptu Family Fun

A couple of weeks ago a party broke out in our pool! What started out as five family members coming over to swim snowballed to a full fledged pool party with 15 people in attendance. What fun!

The water was perfect, the company was awesome, and a great time was had by all. I'm ready... when can we do it again?!

The grandkids made up some game and Jeff, Sam, Matt were gracious enough to play along!

Storm wore his tool belt into the pool.
You just never know when you might need to fix something!

Sunny wore her animal print swimsuit because she heard Summer had one too!

Summer's End

I know, I know, it's only the middle of August and Summer still has a long way to go. But in my mind when the kids go back to school Summer is over.

We had a great time at Grammy's Summer Camp. Field trips, play dates, swimming, art projects. We managed to fit a lot in.

We spent the last days before the start of school on a couple of fun projects. We assembled a 300 piece jigsaw puzzle and we planted pumpkins to (hopefully) grown our own jack o'lanterns.

Ta-da! we did it!

Time to plant the pumpkins... in our swimsuits

Since Sunny and Thunder got to plant them,
Skye and Storm got to post the garden markers

Now school is in session and we're looking forward to Autumn.

Of course here in the Phoenix area, we'll still be in the 100s until October and Autumn usually doesn't occur until February IF we have a couple of nights below freezing.

At my house Autumn will arrive over Labor Day Weekend when I bring out the Fall decor...

Sixty!

I have several blog posts to write today, but I'm going to publish the one that's most important to me - my birthday!

Last Wednesday was my 60th birthday. I can't believe that's my age because I don't feel anything like I thought 60 might feel! I'm not a person who is bothered by my age. I'm proud to be 60 and when you consider the alternative, well, you know.

We held my birthday party yesterday and it was a blast. Thanks to all in my family who made it a special day for me. I love you!

On my screen the color looks blue, but it was a gorgeous deep purple

Adam, Jessica, me, Zach, Katie, Gabe
JD and Janel are on the tablet. I didn't want to have my 60th birthday photo without them in it. So we Skyped them in!

I wanted a photo with all of the grandkids, but that can be challenging these days. Both boys are in the "photo avoidance" stage of life. This was the best of the worst! Skye, Sunny, Thunder, Storm, me, Snow

Another example of the best of the worst photos, haha!
